From the golden-gilded Buddhas in Yangon and the magical temples of Bagan to the tranquillity of Inle Lake, Burma will excite, impress and intrigue you.

Day 01: Arrival Yangon

Meeting assistance upon arrival, our representative will welcome you and escort you to your hotel.

The Magic Of MyanmarThis emerging and exciting city has a myriad of treasures waiting to be discovered!! We will start our day tour by visiting the National Museum (closed on Mondays and Public Holidays) to gain an insight into the history of Myanmar. We will then witness the eight meter high Sihasana Lion Throne, used by the last Burmese king, and other fascinating artifacts from Burmese history and culture. Finally, continue to the Shwedagon Pagoda, the spectacle of the Shwedagon Pagoda has been one of the most memorable experiences one would ever have in one’s lifetime. This is the tallest Pagoda in Myanmar, and the highlight of any trip to Yangon. Moreover, the history of this astounding monastery goes back about 2500 years when it was built to house the eight sacred hairs of Buddha.

Day 02: Yangon - Bagan (B)

Sightseeing in Bagan:
The Magic Of Myanmar Bagan (or Pagan) is an old city that was the capital of the first Burmese Imperium. There are more than 2,000 pagodas and temples to be found, the visitors can embark on a spiritual and historical journey by going from one temple to another as all the buildings are beautifully and uniquely designed. We will start our day tour by visiting:
Shwezigon Pagoda (15 minutes)
King Anawrahta started the construction of the Schwezigon Pagoda to enshrine some relicts of Buddha. The construction was finished by his successor, King Kyansittha between 1086 and1090. Originally the Shwezigon Pagoda marked the northern end of the city of Bagan. The stupa's graceful bell shape became a prototype for virtually all later stupas over Myanmar.
Gubyaukgyi Temple at Wetkyi-Inn (1 hour)
This temple was built in the early 13th century and repaired in 1468. The vivid colorful paintings and the impressive architecture make this temple an interesting site to visit. This temple is not to be confused with the Gubyaukgyi Temple in Myinkaba. Please note that ascending the platform of the pagoda is not allowed.

The Magic Of Myanmar Gubyaukgyi Temple in Myinkaba (30 minutes)
Gubyaukgyi Temple in Myinkaba was built in 1113 by Kyanzittha's son Rajakumar, and is famous for its well-preserved stuccos from the 12th century on the outside walls. The magnificent paintings date from the original construction of the temple and are considered to be the oldest original paintings in Bagan.
We will also be visiting the Ananda Pahto (30 minutes), Manuha Temple (30 minutes), Shwesandaw Pagoda (30-45 minutes), and Lacquerware workshop (30 minutes). We will also visit a Pagoda to witness the tranquil sunset from there.

Day 03: Bagan (B)

The Magic Of Myanmar Excursion to Mount Popa and Salay:
Mount Popa, a cylindrical hill that rises sharply from the surrounding plain, and is considered to be the home of Myanmar's most important Nats (spirits). At the top of the hill is a monastery and temple complex with shrines to the 37 Nats, along with a spectacular view of this region.
Later, we will be visiting, the unspoiled Burmese town, Salay and explore its beautiful tranquil environment. Witness the Yoke Son Kyaung, the oldest surviving wooden monastery, with beautiful carvings of court life and scenes from the epic Ramayana. Continue wandering around the town, visiting the market and the Thar Ta Na Yaung Chi monastery, which also serves as an orphanage.

Day 04: Bagan - Heho - Inle Lake (B)

Drive from Heho to Inle Lake with sightseeing at Pindaya.
The Pindaya Caves are ensconced in a limestone ridge overlooking the lake. Inside the cavern there are more than 8000 Buddha images made from alabaster, teak, marble, brick, lacquer and cement, and they are arranged in such a way as to form a labyrinth throughout the various cave chambers.

Day 05: Inle Lake (B)

The Magic Of Myanmar We will start our tour by first visiting Ywar Ma village (1 hour):
One of the largest villages on Inle Lake. Here, visit the goldsmith workshops, silk weaving cottage industries, as well as soak in the tranquil environment. Also, one can buy the Shan bags, gold and silver wares from here.
Excursion by boat on Inle Lake:
Enjoy a boat ride on the scenic Inle Lake and discover its calm serenity, still waters, and colorful brush strokes of floating vegetation, and slow moving fishing canoes. Also, visit the enchanting floating gardens, a teeming market,and an Intha village around the lake. The day also includes a visit to the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, Inn Paw Khon Village (Lotus and silk weaving villages) and the Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery.

Day 06: Inle Lake - Loi Kaw (B)

Drive from from Inle Lake to Loi Kaw with Sightseeing in Sagar and Thar Khaung Villages.
The Magic Of Myanmar Transfer by boat to Sagar Village the far southern region of Inle Lake. Very few tourists make the trip down to this region yet it is one of the most beautiful places in the Shan State in the mountains forming a backdrop for the small villages and fishermen on the water. The area was only recently opened to tourists. The boat journey takes about 2.5 hours, but is full of wonderful sights and home to many unique species of birds, both indigenous and migratory. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!.
Upon arriving in Sagar area, we make several engaging stops (the order of our visits will depend on the tourist boats and activity in the villages) The main highlights are the 'sunken' stupas of Sagar - 108 stupas from the 16-17th centuries that are partially under water for a few months a year. Afterwards, we will continue to the western shores of Sagar area, Thar Khaung, a series of more than 200 stupas which also make a fabulous photo stop. Later, head to Phe Khone where our memorable day ends, and we return to our hotel.

The Magic Of MyanmarDay 07: Loi Kaw (B)

Excursion to Pan Pat Village (Long neck people):
Following our breakfast, we will begin our day excursion to Pan Pat Village also know as the village of Long neck people or Ka Yann village by car. The journey will take you about 1 hour and 30 minutes. On the way, we will also stop to witness the most colorful market in Demaw So (Only available on Sat, Mon, Wed). On the way back to Loikaw, stop for photos at the Ngwe Taung dam and a bit late lunch in Loikaw. After lunch drive to the jetty and take by boat half an hour along the Bi Lu Chaung (creek) and visit to the Paya Phyu village.
Later, we return to our hotel in Loi Kaw.

Day 08: Loi Kaw - Yangon (B)

Excursion to Twante including Trishaw ride (6 hours):
From Yangon, drive across the Hlaing River to Twante, a typical and picturesque Burmese town. After visiting the Shwesandaw Pagoda (the third tallest in the country), explore the daily life of the town itself, stopping to see local cottage industries including mushroom farming and bamboo raft making. Finish your visit of the town at the Oh-Bo pottery quarter, and observe a demonstration of the local pottery making techniques. On the way back to Yangon, visit the Indian-inspired Paung Daw Gyoke Pagoda.
