Day 01: Arrival / Colombo

Welcome to Sri Lanka, the teardrop – shaped island just off the coast of India. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to your first destination of the Tour, Colombo.  Check in at your hotel on arrival and start your city and shopping tour visiting Pettah Floating Market, Gem Museum, ODEL Dress Boutique, Gangarama Buddhist Temple, and Independent Square & National Museum. In the evening stroll around the Galle Face Green watching the sunset and start blending into the Colombo night life on your own by chilling out at the Old Dutch Hospital, Colombo Race Course or The Independent Arcade. You can continue to enjoy the night by visiting various Pubs, Night Clubs & Casinos which are open throughout the night. Experiencing the Colombo night life is possible every day apart from the Full Moon “Poya” Days which comes once a month and other Religious Holidays.

Return back to your hotel on completion and spend the day at leisure.

Day 02: Colombo / Pinnawala /Dambulla / Habarana

After Breakfast transfer to  the center point of cultural triangle,  Habarana . En-route  visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage where you can  get up close and personal with some of Sri Lanka's largest animals, and observe them going about their daily life, feeding, playing and bathing in the local river. Also visit The Serene Cave Temples at Dambulla that house hundreds of statues of Buddha and are completely covered in ancient frescoes Check in at your Hotel on Arrival and Spend the day at Leisure.

Day 03: Habarana / Anuradhapura / Habarana

After Breakfast transfer to the first capital of Sri Lanka, Anuradhapura. Founded in 05 century BC. Attractions worth seeing are: - The Sacred Bo Tree, Abhayagiri Dagaba, Jetavanaramaya, Brazen Palace, Thuparama Dagaba, Samadhi Buddha, Kuttam Pokuna and Mirisavati Dagaba. Afterwards visit Mihintale, the cradle of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. Mihintale is the mountain from where the Aryan Sinhalese fled to still superior civilization by gentle sway of Buddhism. The sacred mountain of Mihintale is considered the location where Buddhism was first introduced to the island of Sri Lanka. Return back to your hotel on completion and spend the rest of your day at leisure.

Day 04: Habarana / Sigiriya / Polonnaruwa / Habarana

After breakfast you  can climb  the famous rock fortress of Sigiriya – ‘Lion Rock’. Built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century, this impressive site is located on top of a vast 200-metre granite rock, some 750 steps up!. There after enjoy the Hiriwadunna Village Tour including a Canoe Boat Ride and a Block Cart Ride around the lake. Then visit Polonnaruwa and go on a Bicycle tour visiting the capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th to 13th century, one of the most interesting parts of Sri Lanka, has splendid and spectacular statues, palaces and monasteries that fascinates the eyes of the tourists.

Day 05: Habarana / Matale / Kandy

Morning  . Afterwards transfer to the Hill capital  Kandy. En-route visit a spice plantation in Matale, where an explanatory tour of each tree, each plant species and the use of the latter will be held in the kitchen. You can see cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, and many other species which can be purchased at the same stores. Also visit Batik Factory - Where you can watch the spectacular Batik prints are made in skirts, blouses, pillows, etc.  check in at your hotel on arrival and spend the rest of your day at leisure.

Afterwards you can visit  the Kandy City markets , Gem Museum  and Wood Carving Center. Evening you will  get  entertained by a local dance performance followed by a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha  where you will witness a traditional Puja Ceremony.

Day 06: Kandy / Nuwara Elliya

Morning visit  the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. There are over 5,000 kinds of trees, many native plant species including indigenous, alien or new species. What is notable in this garden is the large collection of orchids has.  Afterwards take the train to Nuwara Elliya, The train leaves from Kandy  (Peradeniya  Station ) at 12.30 Hrs (driver leads you to the 1st Class wagon and finds your seat for you and hurriedly makes his own way to the Nuwara Elliya  Station by vehicle to meet you on arrival). A breathtaking view of the misty mountains covered with lush tea estates, steep mountain slopes, large number of  water falls and tunnels is opened from the window of the 01st Class wagon during this trip. The train reaches Nuwara Elliya  at 15.51 Hrs. Checking in at your Hotel  on arrival and  spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 07: Nuwara Elliya / Horton Plains / Nuwara Elliya

Early morning collect your packed breakfast from the hotel and proceed to The Horton Plains National Park to go on trek to see the World’s End. You will be picked up from the hotel by a Jeep to take you to the park which is 36 KM away from the Nuwara Elliya city.   This trek is 4 KM, but the trail loops back to Baker’s fall (2km) and continues back to the entrance (another 3.5km). The 9.5km round trip takes a leisurely three hours. Unless you get there early the view from World’s End is often obscured by mist. Early morning (between 6am and 10am) is the best time to visit before the clouds roll in. That’s when you’ll spy toy-town, tea-plantation villages in the valley below, and an unencumbered view south towards the coast. Wear strong and comfortable walking shoes, a hat and sunglasses. Bring sunscreen, water & a few extra layers of warm clothing (it’s very cold up there at 7am). It is forbidden to leave the paths so always follow your group or guide If you have young children with you, keep a very firm grip on them as you approach the cliff edge. Afternoon at your convenience commence a sightseeing tour of the city. Walk around the  beautiful town of Nuwara Eliya, called Little England of Sri Lanka, is in beautiful scenery of mountains, valleys, waterfalls and tea plantations. Walk around  the Local Market place, Golf Course, (one of the finest 18 holes Golf courses in Asia) the Hill club, and drive around this hill station viewing Lake Gregory.
