About Mathura
Mathura is famously called as Brajbhoomi and is known as the birth place of
Lord Krishna, an important deity in the Hindu religion. This is one of the
most important pilgrim place of the Hindus and one of the seven sacred

Major Attractions in Mathura
Jama Masjid : This ancient mosque is built by Abo-in-Nabir-Khan in
1661AD and has 4 towering minarets with bright colored plaster mosaic of
which a few panels are still present.
Vishram Ghat : This holy ghat on the bank of river Ganga is the
place where Lord Krishna is believed to have rested after assassinating
Kansa.
Dwarkadheesh Temple : This is the main temple of the town located in
the eastern part of Mathura close to the Yamuna River and was built in 1814.
During the festivals of Holi, Janmashtami and Diwali, pilgrims throng the
temple from all over the country and participate in the festivities with

Major Attractions in Vrindavan
Madan Mohan Temple : Madan Mohan Temple is located on the riverside
and is the oldest structure in Vrindavan. This temple is 60 feet high temple
was opened in 1580 on a 50 feet hill called Dvadasaditya Tila.
Radharamana Temple : It was established in 1542, after the Deity
self-manifested from a salagram-sila on the full moon day of Vaisakha
(April/May). Radharamana means 'one who gives pleasure to Radha and is
one of the many names of Lord Krishna.
Radha Vallabha Temple : This temple was founded by Harivamsa Gosvami
where there is no Deity of Radharani, but a crown has been placed next to
Krishna to signify her presence.
