Ghanerao, a small village located in the district of Pali, Rajasthan, is famous for its heritage, landscape and wildlife. It is a quiet village with an variety of temples, step wells and marble archways. Ghanerao has both Hindu and Jain temples.

Getting There
Air : The nearest airport is at Udaipur, around 110 km away.

Rail : Falna, at a distance of 30 km, is the nearest railhead connected to Udaipur and other places in Rajasthan.

Road : Ghanerao is well connected through a good network of roads with the other places in the region.

Major attractions
There are about eleven Jain temples (a few of them quite old) in the village itself. Besides these, there are temples of Laxmi Narainji, Murlidhai and Chabhiya. On its outskirts is a temple dedicated to Lord Mahadev. The temple of Gajanand is a must visit because of its tremendous statue, which is flanked by goddesses Ridhi and Siddhi, guarded by Hanuman on one side and Bhairon on the other.

About Sodawas
Sodawas was under the direct rule of Marwar state (Jodhpur) for three decades. It was a 'Khalsa Village'. It was given in Jagir to late Thakur Bishan Singhji by his late Highness Maharaja Shri Umaid Singhji of Jodhpur in the year 1943 along with two other villages. The Karni Kot – Sodawas, a palace turned into a heritage hotel, is still owned by the family of Thakur Bishan Singhji. The traditions, culture and the rich heritage of Marwar, erstwhile State of Jodhpur can be clearly seen here. Folk Music and Theme Dinners are additional attractions. Apart from the Kot, Visitors can also enjoy viewing green fields of mustard and wheat; and in the village, one can see artisans working on the local crafts of the region.

The airport and the railway station is about 90 kms away from Sodawas. There's also a bus stand here that facilitates visitors.
