About Dundlod
A small town, situated in the heart of the Shekhawati region, is Dundlod.
It is an interesting stopover against beautiful surroundings. It generates
very little tourist interest but the fort here dates back to 1750 AD. It is
owned by a direct descendant of Rawal who built the place. The Diwan-I-Khas
audience hall is still in very good condition. Kila of Dundlod, the 17th
century Rajputana fort, protected the Shekhawats, the warrior Rajputs who
withstood the onslaught of Mughal hordes. Thus the cultural heritage of
Rajasthan is preserved at the Dundlod fort. The shimmering golden sand
dunes, which surround the fort lure and enthrall tourists and villagers.
